"Realism"

"To me realism is simply the artistic form of truth" said Roberto Rosselini... Can anyone think of great examples of current films or tv shows that fall into that category? Are reality shows like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" or "Jersey Shore"considered a form of realism? I am scared to say it, but I think the answer is yes...
