On Thursday singer, songwriter, entertainer and a former member of Styx, Glen Burtnik met with Machete Media Productions filmmaker Bridget Machete at Sliverball Museum in Asbury Park New Jersey.

Growing up in New Jersey in the 70s, Glen was part of the house band at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Almost every Sunday night Bruce Springsteen would come to the Pony and perform with Glen’s band Cats On A Smooth Surface. Later on Burtnik became a top songwriter, writing not just for Styx, but also for Mark Collie, Randy Travis, John Waite, Jo Dee Messina, Neal Schon and Patty Smith.

Glen Burtnik really loves his adopted hometown, Asbury Park. So much so that he has written a song called “Where Music Lives.” In one of the interviews Glen said “I wanted to invest some effort into making the most of this song, which has a special meaning to me, and hopefully anyone else that loves this town like I do.” Where Music Lives is the slogan the Asbury Park adopted to celebrate its music heritage when it hosted a traveling roots music exhibition from the Smithsonian.

Sliverball Museum Arcade is one of a kind of place to film this interview at, which will be featured in “Asburied In Time” documentary. Rows and rows of pinball machines from the old 1950s to the flashy, smooth gliding 1990s pieces, I mean if you love old video game consoles this place is for you. Located on the boardwalk, museum looks modest from the outside but it is pretty amazing once you enter it.
