Her parents both grew up near Asbury Park and it has been always very dear to them. She’s had a few fuzzy memories of visiting Asbury Park as a child, so she went back in 2003 and took these amazing photos. Lisa does an excellent job digging into the history of this fascinating location.
Her photographs appeared in Life.com, GQ, Marie Claire, Interview Magazine, Salon.com and The New York Times. Lisa’s work was also included in the Transformed by Light: The New York Night exhibit at The Museum of the City of New York.Recently, she worked as one of the primary photographers for the documentary Stories from the Gulf: Living With the Oil Disaster, which was narrated by Robert Redford and composed entirely of still photography. Some of Lisa’s photographs from that project can be seen on her website at http://www.lisawhitemanlens.com/.
Lisa’s stunning photography of Asbury Park will be seen in “Asburied In Time” documentary by Bridget Machete.
